About Inspire To Rise

Inspire to rise is a non-profit organization founded in 2017 to support children and young people between the ages of 6 to 35 years in Ghana and across Africa to fully realize their potential and lead boldly in their communities.

We deliver our mandate by working with young people and visionary organizations to execute community projects that educates, mentors, and prepares young people for their envisioned future. Our aims and objectives include:

Our Founder

Wendy Atswei Laryea

Wendy Atswei Laryea

FOUNDER

Wendy is a multiple Award-winning Journalist, Communications professional, a Chevening Alumna and YALI fellow with a passion for leveraging her expertise to drive meaningful impact for young people, especially vulnerable girls, young women and those from disadvantaged communities. She is also a UNICEF Menstrual Hygiene Ambassador and the founder of ‘Inspire to Rise’ a non-profit organization that focuses on promoting menstrual health, reducing period poverty and mentoring. Since 2017, her organization has empowered and engaged thousands of young people to address misconceptions about menstruation, and to make informed choices and decisions regarding their growth and personal development. Wendy is an advocate and a known voice on menstrual hygiene. She has moderated several sessions and contributed her voice to national policy conversations on menstrual health including her advocacy to end period tax and poverty in Ghana. Through her organization, Inspire to Rise, she has partnered with several organizations including Plan International, Cranfield University School of Management Sustainability Group, Futurestars Charity and Trashy Bags Africa to raise awareness on periods and drive action towards improving access to sanitary products for girls and young women in deprived and vulnerable communities. She holds a Master of Science degree in Management and Corporate Sustainability from Cranfield University.
