Periods of Change Launch

Ghana’s 2021 Policy Brief on Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) reveals that out of the necessity to cover basic needs unmet by caregivers, including purchase of sanitary pads, many girls are exploited. Additionally, the brief indicates that majority of girls do not have accurate information on menstruation before their first period. To help curb these problems, Inspire to Rise in collaboration with Futurestars Charity have launched a project called “Periods of Change” which aims to help address these challenges by providing girls with access to menstrual products, as well as education on menstrual hygiene practices and health. Through this project, girls in collaborating partner schools will be able to manage their periods with greater dignity and ease, enabling them to attend school regularly to reach their full potential. The free menstrual products are contained in our “Oblayo Bag” – a recycled bag made by Trashy Bags Africa. Inspire to Rise is excited about this collaboration with FutureStars Charity to impact the lives of our young girls as we educate the young boys as well. This project is also supported by Trashy Bags Africa. – Periods of Change ( Metro Tv Story)
